Pinnacle Peak Courses Open to the Public
Troon North - Pinnacle and Monument Courses
There are two open-to-the-public courses in Troon North, Pinnacle and Monument, both with breathtaking mountain and Sonoran desert scenery. The Four Seasons at Troon North Resort uses these courses, just a couple minutes by shuttle or golf cart. Troon North Golf has been named among the 75 best golf resorts in North America for 2011 by Golf Digest. Golf Magazine just decreed Pinnacle the number one course in Arizona. Both courses were designed by legendary golfer, Tom Weiskopf, and are built around dramatic granite boulders and striking elevation changes, all accented with giant saguaros.
Be careful when temps are above 80 degrees (mid-March thru October) if you’ve lost your ball in the desert surroundings. Rattlesnakes like golf courses too, so you’ll need to watch for them, although they really don’t want anything to do with you. Don’t search where you can’t see and shuffle a bit as you walk along outside the greens. When it starts to warm up in the spring, it might be better to just leave the ball there!
Troon North has a great clubhouse open to residents and visitors alike. Enjoy the super views from their Dynamite Grille.

Rio Verde Golf Club – Rio Verde
Nestled near the Verde River, Tonto Verde is a verdant desert gem situated between Pinnacle Peak and Fountain Hills. Two distinctly different 18-hole championship golf courses are situated in a spectacular setting surrounded by close-up views of the surrounding Mazatzal and McDowell mountains. On the southern horizon, the distinctive Superstition mountains stretch far, to finish the scene. They have a clubhouse that was long the only place to grab a bite in Rio Verde, which is beautifully isolated by 20 minutes whether up the hill west to Pinnacle Peak or 20 minutes south to Fountain Hills.
